A Golden Sneak Preview
I was engaged by my cousin, Shima to design her hantarans. She wanted the theme color to be gold. Here is the “sneak preview” of one of the hantarans. I will post the complete photos after her wedding which will be on the 1st of Feb (akad nikah) and 2nd of Feb (reception).

I was cheated!
I would like to urge all budding wedding planners out there to be more alert when planning your client’s wedding. I learnt it the most costly way.
What happened was, my client wanted to pay some money to a caterer before testing the food. Despite my advice not to do so, I was instructed to make the payment. Since it was about a month before the wedding, I was asked to pay more than the required deposit. In total, I paid RM2500.
As it turned out, the client managed to test the food and somehow it didn’t meet the family’s expectations. They decided not to proceed with the caterer and demanded the money back. The caterer said he will return the money but according to his own timeframe and affordability. The wedding took place and now after the wedding, the client kept quiet about topping up with the RM2500 to cover for other expenses and the caterer didn’t reply my messages. And I’m left to pay the photographer, for the canopy and the mak andam. All from my own pocket money.
Where is the fairness in that? I was just following instructions and I’ve to use my own hard-earned money for my client’s wedding. I feel sad and cheated, by both – my client and the caterer.
I have given the caterer until 8 October to return the money. If he failed to do so, I will have no choice but to make a police report.

Best ke jadi “Wedding Planner”?
Sekali sekala bila bersembang dengan teman-teman, ada yang bagi komen – “bestnye jadik wedding planner ni”. Komen-komen sebegitu hanya membuatkan Kak Liza tersenyum. Sebenarnya ada kala seronok, ada kalanya tak sabar tunggu majlis selesai.
Bukannya apa. Kalau pengantin beri sepenuh kepercayaan setelah berbincang dengan detail apa yang dia nak, etc… memang seronok jadik wedding planner ni. Seronok macam J Lo dalam movie “The Wedding Planner”. Tapi kalau pengantin sekejap-sekejap call. Sekejap-sekejap hantar email. Segala sesuatu ditelitinya.. memang boleh jadik rimas! Orang yang lebih berpengalaman macam Pak Abu pun boleh mengamuk!
Anyway, Kak Liza nak nasihatkan la semua pengantin-pengantin di luar sana yang ada hajat nak engage wedding planner. Bincanglah habis-habis dengan wedding planner tu, apa tema kita, apa expectations kita, berapa bajet kita dan sebagainya. Lepas tu, biarlah wedding planner tu menjalankan tugasnya. Kekadang wedding planner ni, kalau dikongkong sangat pun, payah untuk dia jadik kreatif. Cuma sekali sekala tu tanyalah dia progress persiapan. Sebagai pengantin, kita pun nak tau status persiapan majlis kita supaya semuanya berjalan dengan lancar seperti yang kita inginkan, ye tak?

Wedding planning – Bandar Tun Razak, Cheras
The reception will be held this Saturday (12/5/07). Last night my pelamin crew went to set up the pelamin. Today, the canopy guys will set up the canopies. Theme – maroon + pink.

Fruit Basket
Recently, one of my customers fell and broke her arm. We thought of sending her something so I went online. Unfortunately, due to the time constraint and after getting my boss’s approval, this is the gift that I came up for her.
