“Gubahan Hantaran” Class @ Home
I received many queries from previous workshop participants as well as from new contacts regarding gubahan hantaran workshops. Regret to say, I have not planned for any in the near future. Nevertheless, what I can offer is to conduct the workshop or class at the comfort of your own home. What I would need is for those who are interested to have this class is to gather a minimum of 5 participants for the class. What will be taught? Well, totally up to the participants! Just let me know what everyone would like to learn and I’ll teach just that. Anyway, for details… do contact me personally.

Arrangement of hantaran
I noticed that nowadays people just don’t care how the hantarans are arranged. By right, the hantarans should be led by the “head” of the hantarans which is the sirih junjung or tepak sirih. Unfortunately, sometimes you see the sirih junjung being placed last in the line up of hantarans. It’s not wrong but it would be better if we try to preserve our adat melayu. Otherwise, the whole purpose of bringing the tepak sirih or sirih junjung would be meaningless. And if we don’t care for our own adat, who else will?
Looking for something simple?
Nowadays, brides tend to look for simpler wedding clothes, simpler veils.. simpler wedding tiaras. The photos below show these simple tiara designs… simple yet elegant.

As promised, here are the hantarans from the bride to the groom. Thanks so much, Shima for the complete trust you had in me. It was a great pleasure working on these hantarans.
